A review of our December

WARNING!
This post contains a ridiculous amount of pictures!! :)

I wanted to do a little year end post. I guess I'll have some Christmas pictures to put up soon but I wanted to do a little recap of Audrey's development in the last month or so.

Audrey's had a lot of firsts this month:
First word: Mama (yipee!)
It will be her first Christmas
First haircut
First teeth (2 bottoms)
First movie

She's babbling a lot and moving a lot! She's been getting up on her knees and rocking back and forth the last week or so. She turns in circles and backwards. She loves playing with blocks, balls, dolls and anything with a string, tag or button. Her favorite thing BY FAR is her blankie from her auntie. We only let her have it if she's in her bed though so she hopefully won't get too attached.
She's eating 3rd Foods baby food now so she'll be graduating to real food soon! She loves to eat the little puffs that dissolve in your mouth too.
Almost everyone knows Audrey for 2 things: her big eyes and her crazy, long red hair! The eyes are here to stay but we decided the hair needed a little trim. You remember the little "side burns" she had? Gone! And I trimmed about an inch off the top too. As sad as it was to do, it turned out pretty cute!
I packed in a bunch of other pictures too. Some of the ones with the pink princess hat were taken a couple months ago. I couldn't decide which ones to post so I posted more than probably was necessary :)
I can't believe Christmas is tomorrow! We are so looking forward to spending time with Audrey on her very 1st Christmas! I can't wait!
Warm wishes to you all! Wherever you are and whomever you're with, make it special and remember the reason for this season, our Savior's birth!

Ms. Mischevious

Little Ms. Audrey has had some tricks up her sleeve the last couple days. Yesterday I taped the video below of her "nap". This morning I put her up for her nap and was vacuuming a few minutes later while she was still awake and heard a big clunk. I couldn't tell where it was coming from so I shut off the vacuum and listened and didn't hear anything so I continued to clean. A few seconds later, I heard it again! And then another clunk. I ran upstairs, my first thought was that either her shelf above her bed had fallen off the wall or that her crib had had a mishap. Steve had lowered her mattress on Sunday so it was a possibility something may not have been tightened enough. But there was no crying so I figured it couldn't be that bad. The picture above shows what it was. It's a little hard to tell what it is without an explanation. There's a small table in between the glider and her crib. That's where some of her books are. She had put her arm through the slots in the crib and was trying to grab the books but most of them fell to the floor, the mysterious clunks I was hearing! She's a clever one!
I know these days of "innocent" fun are short and will soon become moments of disobedience and training but as for right now, they are kinda cute! She makes me smile and laugh even though she is a bit naughty :)

Weekend in Waxhaw

This Saturday we went to Waxhaw, NC for a belated birthday celebration for Steve's mom. The town is about 25 minutes from our house. Main Street is absolutely adorable! The shops were so fun to look around in! Quite a few antique shops, a cute little pet/grooming shop, an art/chocolate shop, a pottery store and a surf shop. And we ate lunch at this cute little place called Rippington's, amazing food! (Mom, we're taking you there when you come next :) Audrey sat in a restaurant highchair for the first time! We had to tuck a coat beside and behind her because she's a bit too small still. Everyone that we spoke to was so friendly and kind. Audrey received much adoration by many as well! Two woman at the restaurant held her for quite some time and one of the ladies kept kissing her on the face!

We parked the car right beside the train tracks and just couldn't pass up a photo op! I think they turned out pretty cute, don't you?

Snug as a bug

Yay for a day of family fun, walking and shopping!

I would like a rock please

Oh, we're taking pictures! Why didn't you say so!?

The fam. Notice Audrey not caring that a picture was taken, she's enjoying her book :) She's taking after her Grandpa Jacka

Oh, that table looks good!

Maybe I'll start with my hand

Yum! Table

Trying to get Gramma Sandi to try out the table too

She kept whipping her head back, I thought she was going to flip out

Tagged

So, I was tagged by my friend Jeanie to go to my 6th folder of pictures and find the 6th picture. Here's what I found. It's a picture of Steve and his dad getting ready to go skiing in Virginia. It was taken last winter, I think in February if I remember right. I was starting to get pretty big with Audrey then. I guess that's it, short and sweet for this post!

Oh, before I go: Kath, Sarah P, Emily C and Ashley F, I tag you!
