Massanutten

This weekend we went to Virginia to the ski resort Massanutten with Steve's dad and stepmom, who have a time share there. We just got back this afternoon (Wed) . We had such a great, relaxing time! It was our last getaway before baby Nilsen makes her appearance! We had the luxury of watching cable TV, I watched as much HGTV as I could handle! :) We played lots of games and cards and found a new favorite game, Cranium. If you haven't played it, you MUST! It's a ball! Steve's parents also blessed us by taking us out to dinner a couple times and Steve's stepmom took me shopping for fabric for a couple dresses she's going to make for little girl! I need to take a few craft lessons from her, she does a great job! All in all, we had an amazing time! So glad we got to spend so much time together away from everyday life!
On another note, when we got back this afternoon, I had a dermatology appointment and got 5 moles removed. I actually had to get stitches for the one on my leg, which is the one that the Dr. was the most concerned about. The nurse said when I come back next Friday to get the stitches removed, they will have the test results to see if I have Melanoma (skin cancer). She said if I do, it will require to take more action, to do surgery around the area, to take about the size of a golf ball in width, to get all the bad cells out. But thankfully, I am at peace about the process. It didn't hurt at all! The drugs they used were approved by my OB and I'm praying for a quick recovery! My prayer request would be that I continue to stay calm and at peace about the outcome of the biopsy, whatever the results may be. God has been more than kind to me, especially during my pregnancy. What a joy it's been with hardly any discomforts! Only 8 1/2 more weeks to go!

Our last trip away before the baby!
Baby Belly! 31 Weeks
This is us in our condo that we stayed in. Cozy!
Getting ready to go skiing! Don't worry, I didn't go :) Just Steve and his dad
This was taken in the water park. Hard to see, but baby girl is sure getting big!
We played Cranium with Steve's parents. It's the best game! I took a picture of Steve with our mover, he looked just like him!
We went to the arcade for a bit one day. Steve was like a little boy in a candy store!
Steve is getting ready to play Dance, Dance Revolution! We played together after I saw him try it out first. It was so fun! Gave the baby a little dance too I'm sure!

It's on its way!

It sure has been a joy to fix up our little girl's room! Steve and I both thought we were having a boy but I'm so glad we're having a girl! Not that boys aren't a blessing too, which we want to have as well, but there's just something about little girl stuff that is so fun! I've enjoyed every bit that we've done so far! It's so much more fun to look for tiny things instead of for ourselves! Most of the things in her room were either given to us or we found at the Good Will. Her dresser we got on Craig's list. Gotta love bargains! Hope you enjoy the pictures! We have LOTS left to do but we're off to a good start!

Here's what we started with, a big ol' mess!

It took a little elbow grease, but Steve got the crib together with some telephone assistance from our friends Hannah and Enoch, who blessed us by giving us the crib!

We tried it out on Stella, she wasn't sure what to think! She started licking the rails!

Steve's dad and stepmom blessed us tremendously by getting our glider for us!

Here's the shelf hanging above the crib, the books are old fashioned and the blocks my mom sent me. Some are ones my sister and I played with and some my mom played with! So grateful to have those to share with our little girl! There are 6 pegs on the shelf, one for each letter of AUDREY. Still have to get the letters and paint them, a project left to be done soon.

Sick Day

I've been feeling pretty icky the last day or two so I decided to stay home today. Seems as though everyone is coughing and sneezing, I figured it would catch up to me soon. I fought the temptation to clean the house, it was hard! I just tried to rest the best I could. I also had a doctor' s appointment this morning. Everything is going well! Since there are 8 doctors in the practice, they are having me see all of them at least once. I got a good one today. My appointments have been every two weeks for the last month and I think will continue that way for the next few visits and then only down to once a week! The day is quickly approaching now! My ticker says 73 days, which still seems like a lot but I know it will go fast! I'll be 30 weeks this Saturday!

While I was at home resting, my dear husband suprised me by coming home for lunch and bringing me flowers! I'm not much for the traditional, I love roses but I'd rather have something different. He got me daisies and orchids, very sweet! And he made me lunch! I finished the afternoon by taking a fabulous, much needed nap and now I'm making Steve his favorite dinner, Teriyaki chicken and rice. We plan on watching a movie tonight and relaxing. A nice, calm Valentine's Day. Just the way I like it. Hope you all have a good one too! Baby room pictures coming soon!
