4 cups old fashioned oats 1 1/2 c. sliced almonds (or nut of your choice we like pecans) 1/2 c. packed brown sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 c. cooking oil 1/4 c. honey 1 tsp. vanilla 1 1/2 c. raisins or craisins or any other dried mixed fruit or none at all
Preheat oven to 300. In a bowl mix the oats, nuts, sugar, salt & cinnamon. Heat the oil and honey in the microwave (about 1 minute). While the liquied is still hot, mix in the vanilla and pour over dry mix. Stir gently, and finish mixing by hand. Spread granola over baking sheet (one with sides) -- (I line mine w/foil first for easy cleanup). Bake 35 to 40 minutes, stirring every 10 (I don't always stir, I just crumble by hand after it cools). Let cool completely. Add dried fruit. It's great with yogurt, as cereal or just by the handful! Enjoy!!!
